Gujarat Themis Biosyn Limited (GTBL) has completed the acquisition of MicroBiopharm Japan Co., Ltd. (MBJ), Japan, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Themis Biosyn Japan Limited (TBJ), for a total consideration of JPY 21.5 billion, funded through a mix of debt and equity. GTBL invested Rs 475 Crores towards capital contribution and Rs 745 Crores by way of loan in TBJ, and has entered into a loan agreement with TBJ for an amount up to Rs 800 Crores. The acquisition, which accelerates GTBL’s transition towards a fermentation-based, globally integrated contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), was made from funds managed or advised by T Capital Partners Co., Ltd.
